The more messed up this world gets, the more God makes sense.

What the hell was that?

2:42 AM

Care to elaborate?

Just that some friends here have Christian pay TV and want me to watch it. What's your take on it?

Nate & Susan - sorry for the delayed response. I just got back from a trip down to Florida where I attended a couple of the revival meetings in Lakeland. Seems that the Internet is buzzing about what's going on down there so I will give you some insight into my personal experience.

1. The meetings were made up of people from all over the world who have heard about the reported healings, etc.

2. The primary speaker is Todd Bentley - he is a Canadian evangelist that was only planning to do one week of meetings at the Lakeland church. When people started to get healed, etc., they extended the meetings and have been going ever since. They are meeting every day at 10AM and 7PM. The morning speakers are different on a daily basis and Todd speaks in the evening. That said, I didn't hear Todd when I was there because he was speaking at another event in California.

3. I went for two reasons: first, a friend of mine has been battling cancer and I offered to drive them down there for prayer. Secondly, I wanted to "get" whatever God was handing out, if, in fact, He was!

4. My friend didn't receive a miraculous healing while in Lakeland but still felt the trip was worthwhile. And I think it would be safe to say that we were encouraged by the meetings and speakers.

5. My home church is experiencing some pretty cool things and I actually felt that the meetings in Lakeland were almost LESS exciting than my own church! That was interesting to me.

6. I'm not crazy about some of the methods in Lakeland (ie, selling Florida Outpouring 2008 T-Shirts - what is THAT about?!) but I believe that God is genuinely touching thousands of people down there.

Not sure what else to say - if you click on the picture on this post it will direct you to Todd Bentley's website. You can watch the meetings for yourself daily on his site.

If you have any questions or further comments or concerns please post them!

Thanks for stopping by!
