Email Request

Dear friend,

If you're receiving this email then you are most likely someone who has supported me prayerfully and/or financially over the last 5 - 10 years. Some of you may remember me talking about David from Uganda. Recently his apartment was lost to a fire and his landlord has blamed David for this loss. His landlord is threatening to have David jailed for six months if he doesn't pay the renovation costs ($400USD).

I've known David for 14 years and I'm in contact with him on a regular basis. Prior to this situation David has only once asked me to help him financially and that was to attend a youth camp that cost $25. David has not asked me to send him money regarding this apartment fire, but I have made direct contact with his landlord and told him that I would transfer the money to David's account this week to resolve this matter.

I am sending the money either way, but I am asking you to pray about helping me do so. $400USD plus the bank fees will cost me about $525CAD. Anything you can do to help would be appreciated. If you are unable to help financially please pray that this situation would be resolved quickly and that David would remain safe and be able to find a new place to live.

Thank you for being a blessing in my life!
Paul

Hey Paul,
since you're in Canada, any chance you're on Royal Bank?

if so, I could really quickly transfer you some money. and I'd love to.

email me at accdave@gmail.com

I just talked to Henry, one of the other chaperones on our tour and a former choir kid himself--he said he thinks he knows the David you're talking about, although he knows a few Davids who have been in the choir...

UPDATE:

Thank you to the many people who contributed to this need. I received this email from David today:

"Hi Uncle Paul,

I've paid the gentleman (landlord) the money and he has assured me that it's over and that he has no case against me now. So I think it's now time for me to concentrate on my future again. The past days were so painful for me as they involed me hiding from this gentleman cause he wanted to arrest me, but I thank God that it has now come to an end. Thank you for your financial help and prayers for me in this time of disgrace. May God bless you so much for always being there for me in such a time.

Love David"

UPDATE #2:

"Hi Uncle Paul,

Please extend my warm thanks to all your friends who really contributed to the package (money) you sent me. Tell them that I really appreciated it and thank them so much for their help. I request that you continue to put me in your prayers and to keep in touch.

Love David"
